Multi trilobite slab
This enormous trilobite slab features six (and a half) trilobites, three very large examples, and three much smaller ones. There are two different species preserved on this, Asaphus, and Ogygiocaris. Asaphus is the one without genal spines, and Ogygiocaris are the two with genal spines. These particular fossils are aged about 488-478 million years old, from the lower Ordovician period, and they were found, like a lot of fossils, in Morocco. However, there has been a certain extent of restoration to the slab, as when it was found it was in-fact broken into several pieces. Still, this is an incredible specimen, and it cost us over £200 ≈ US$400. You can click here to see a diagram of the body parts of a trilobite (opens in new window).
