Belemnites

These cone shaped fossils are belemnites. I collected them myself in Lyme Regis. They date from the lower Jurassic, and so are about 200 million years old. They are related to ammonites, and would have had tentacles which could probably be retracted inside the shell if the mollusc felt threatened.
